The Peace Flyway Nursery

Grow here, plant everywhere. A pollinator nursery and training center for clubs and communities all along the route.

What it does

Starting the plants for a continent-long garden

The nursery would start local milkweeds and native wildflowers for cemetery and garden stops along The Peace Flyway, and give clubs and community groups one central place to learn and stock up.

  • Peace Garden workshops: choosing a site, plant lists, Peace Pole placement and care
  • Plant pick-up: clubs leave with trays of milkweed and nectar plants
  • Peace Garden kits: plants, a planting plan, signs and a passport stamp
  • Plant sales to clubs, schools and the public that help sustain Heartland Waystation

Plants are matched to each stretch of the route, from Texas milkweeds to northern prairie flowers.
